The BEST Decision I Ever Made...

Well, I bought this book after seeing it advertised on Facebook, at first I thought nearly £15 for a book you have to be kidding me! However, I persevered and bought it anyway and now I’m so glad I did. I bought this book in February of 2016 and read it during half term, I put my plan in place and followed it, as best I could, till my exams. I can now proudly say I received 2 A*’s, 7 A’s, 1 B, and a distinction in additional maths! I can’t stress enough how good this book is, for motivational purposes especially, once I read it I passed it around my friends and I can gladly say we all got the results we wanted. I think it’s important that I mention that I don’t normally write reviews for things however it was the reviews that persuaded me to buy this book that saved my GCSEs! So hopefully this review might just do that for you… Honestly buy this book and it will be one of the best decisions you ever made, I promise you!

Would 100% recommend

It’s a lot smaller than initially thought it would be kind of A5 size. The language is really easy to understand, it’s not intimidating like most teachers are when discussing the topic of exams. The author clearly understands the frustrations that come along with exams. Gives you really good advice on how to cope with stress. Also, there are quite a lot of revision techniques that never came across to me before as useful but they really help to revise huge paragraphs as well as minor details. Your content goes here. Best Purchase I've Ever Made By Far

I don’t even know where to start with this book, I’ll just say the main points: best purchase I’ve ever made by far, I wouldn’t have been nearly as successful as I am now without reading this book, and I would have been really upset and worried with my results by the time my yr11 mock results came in if I didn’t get this and read it through. I would have fallen into the ‘trap’ (as I call it) of allowing and following the school’s techniques and methods for revision, I would have easily failed my full potential. It’s been so good, I’m exceeding everyone’s expectations (which a teacher even said to me recently), and I’ve been so successful with maths I’ve even written a book on how to get the highest possible grade in maths GCSE (which isn’t published yet, I haven’t received my results yet), and a teacher told me that I’ve made more progress than she’s seen in 20 years. Did I mention I’ve never been in top set permanently, I learned almost nothing there (just practice), and I’m a minimum A*?
I’m not going to explain all of the reasons reading this book and implementing the strategies was one of the best decisions I’ve made, because you can see what success it has brung me already!

1 level 9, 4 level 8s, 1 level 7 and 2 level 6s!

This book is absolutely amazing. I honestly could not have achieved what I did without this amazing advice.

I achieved 1 level 9, 4 level 8s, 1 level 7, and 2 level 6s! I also got a level 4 for Spanish (but I wasn’t hoping for anything more).

Put my revision on the right track

It’s brilliant and incredibly helpful. If you, like me, struggle with these things this book is perfect. First of all, it includes examples for everything it explains, proof of students who have done the techniques given and gone on to get good marks. The techniques it gives are also very useful, I have started using them and I feel I have done more revision than I have in the rest of my school life put together. It also helps you create a good timetable starting from November the year before your exams, gives tips on the mental side of revising, and how to know you are revising the correct stuff in the correct way. This book has really helped my revision get on track to good marks, I was sort of stuck in an “I’ll do it later” frame of mind and this book has completely changed that, I’m just disappointed I hadn’t found it sooner.

N.B. The book is only about 140 pages (some of those being diagrams), and all of it is useful, so do not listen to the reviews saying it is a pain to read and not worth the time; it really is.

Brilliant book!

Although rather pricey, it was a great, well written book, filled with expert and fresh tips that i had never even considered before! Would definitely recommend this to a friend. I now feel rather confident about going into year eleven, being that my head is now filled with new revision techniques and knowledge! 🙂

Helpful guide for preparing for GCSEs

Have brought this for my teenage daughter who is sitting GCSE’s next year and she is looking forward to reading the book as it was recommended to her by a teacher. From first impressions, the book looks user-friendly and full of tips.
